Randolph Biggs Rev. War Pension Papers R832
1778 or 1780 Randolph Biggs married to wife Mary in Westmoreland Co., VA
by the Rev. Thomas Smith.
6/16/1815 Randolph Biggs died in Pendleton Co., KY.
5/22/1838 Mary Biggs of Campbell Co., KY, age 77, makes declaration to
obtain pension based on the Rev. War service of her husband
Randolph Biggs. Thomas Biggs, son of Randolph and Mary Biggs,
of Franklin Co., IN and formerly of Campbell Co., KY makes
deposition in support of his mother's declaration. Thomas
Biggs was age fifty-six on 1/19/1838.
1/21/1845 John Norton made deposition in Marion Co., IN that he was
acquainted with Randolf Biggs, husband of Polly Biggs, and that
in or about 1784 Randolf Biggs lived with John Norton, Sr. in
Loudon Co., VA near Middleburgh and afterwards Randolph Biggs
lived near said Norton's which house caught on fire and
destroyed Randolph Biggs' effects and discharge. He recalls
reading said discharge and also a furlough given by George
Johnson. Randolph Biggs was wounded in the wrist at the
Battle of Brandywine.
9/24/1845 Polly Biggs of Kenton Co., KY makes another declaration in
order to obtain a pension. Randolph Biggs enlisted about 1775
at Alexandria, VA.
3/6/1846 Deposition by Nancy Taylor as to Rev. War service of Randolph
Biggs and credibility of John Norton.
6/17/1846 Letter by William DeCourcy in support of Polly Biggs applica-
tion for pension reveals that Randolph Biggs was a shoemaker.
6/21/1847 Mary Biggs died in Covington, KY.
11/10/1850 Mrs. Nancy Payne, dau. of Randal and Mary Biggs, make claim
for pension based on Rev. War service of her father.
5/30/1898 Letter by John M. Biggs of Louisville, KY, grandson of Randolph
Biggs, to the Commissioner of Pensions inquiring about getting
a pension based on the service of his grandfather in the Rev.
