Notes:
1) Many of the notes in the license book contain the notation "+c" after
the words "of age". I am uncertain as to the meaning, except that it
probably stands for "etc.", but then it is still unclear what it is
standing for.
2) Some marriages do not appear in the same order in the marriage license
books and the marriage record books as some marriages were recorded
late. I have given the information so that the entries from the
marriage license book are in order, resulting in some of the marriage
record entries are out of order.
3) Early practice by the clerks was to number both the marriage license
entries and the marriage record entries. The clerks evidently
discontinued the practice of numbering the license entries before
discontinuing the numbering of marriage record entries. This is why
in 1816 the marriage license entry numbers no longer appear in this
abstract.
4) Some of the dates are indicated partially within "<>" as in 12<Feb 1841>.
This does *not* indicate uncertainty in the date -- only that that
part of the date was taken from a column header or the previous entry.
