From Anne Osburn Reynolds (18Mar2004):

There is a petition for probate for Elizabeth Osburn of Romulus who died
6/18/1836. Her children are listed as Elizabeth of Romulus; Sturges of
Auburn; Sally Ann wife of Elijah (sic, should be Beverly) Burch of
Romulus(sic, I believe Sally Ann is a grand-daughter). Grandchildren:
Abigail wife of Elijah Evershire; Abigail wife of Squire Knapp of Mich.;
Ebenezer Osburn of Conn.
I received a letter in 1980 from the Surrogate Court of Seneca County, NY
in which she sent photocopies of some documents. The estate of Elizabeth
Osburn was administered and not probated so no will. The petition states the
same date of death in Romulus, Seneca County, by her daughter, Elizabeth and
recites the children to include Sturgis Osburn residing in Seneca County, son
of said deceased. It includes her grand-daughter Abigail Overshire wife of
Elijah Overshire and a resident of the Territory of Michigan; her
granddaughter Sally Ann Burch of Seneca County; her son Ebenezer Osburn and a
resident of the State of Connecticut and Abigail Knapp wife of Squire Knapp a
resident of the "state last aforesaid" and a daughter of Elizabeth. It
states neither Elizabeth's father or mother were then living and that there
were no other next of kin. Her personal estate was less than $30 and she had
debts unpaid and she had "a small real estate"

Conflict about where the Knapps lived I guess. As you know, Sturgis is
listed in the 1830 census in Romulus, Seneca County.
