Samuel Osborn-7874's marriage to Rebecca Denslow is found in The
Barton Collection, but the date of the marriage is not given. A
marriage for another Samuel Osborn to Mary Brooks on 14 Nov 1688 in Windsor
is also found in the records, but this Samuel is recorded as being "son of
James". Some genealogists have confused the two Samuels. Mary (Brooks)
Osborn subsequently died 30 Aug 1690. Samuel Osborn-7874's children were
all born before the second Samuel was married to Mary Brooks or after she
had died -- these two Samuels cannot possibly be the same person and the
births recorded for Samuel Osborn in 1684 and for Rebekah in 1687 and
another Rebeckah in 1691 must be for children of Samuel Osborn-7874 and
Rebecca Denslow. The will of Samuel Osborn-7874 does indeed name son
Samuel and daughter Rebecca.
