Commentary on Ebenezer Osborne and his family

• Lydia
  According to the History of Clermont County, Ohio, Lydia became lost and disappeared in 1804 at age 11. This would make her birth year about 1793.
  
  
• Matilda
  Matilda's age is given as 7 at the time of Lydia's disappearance, making her birth year about 1797. The 1850 Clermont Co., OH census gives her age as 48, making her birth year about 1802 though. Possibly the census age is in error, but if the census age is accurate, then it seems unlikely that Matilda was with Lydia when Lydia became lost, as stated in the history.
  
  
• Josiah
  History of Clermont County, Ohio states that Josiah was a younger brother of Lydia's. The 1830 Clermont Co., OH census shows that Josiah was born between 1780 and 1790, so was an older brother to Lydia.
  
  
• John
  History of Clermont County, Ohio states that John was a younger brother of Lydia's and probably an infant at the time of Lydia's disappearance. The history also states though that John lived to be an old man in Jackson Twp. The 1850 census (and later censuses) show that John Osborn of Jackson Twp was born about 1792, thus being a little older than Lydia.
  
  
• Jesse
  Jesse is not mentioned by the History of Clermont County, Ohio, but is found in the 1870 Clermont Co., OH census living with John. Jesse also purchased land from John Charles, who Ebenezer's widow Rachel was remarried to.
  
  
• Simeon
  Simeon is not mentioned by the History of Clermont County, Ohio. In the 1820 Clermont Co., OH census though, Simeon is neighbor to Josiah and in the 1850 Montgomery Co., IN census, Simeon is found living with Josiah's youngest son Henry H. In the 1860 Montgomery Co., IN census, Simeon and Jesse are found living fairly close to each other.
