Comments

A number of sources, including the LDS Ancestral File and a number of GEDCOMs posted at RootsWeb WorldConnect/Ancestry World Tree give the parents of Samuel Osborn-12023(marr. Keziah Butler) as Samuel Osborn-9782 and Jedidah Smith. While Samuel Osborn-9782 and Jedidah Smith were indeed married in Edgartown, MA twenty one years before Samuel Osborn-12023 married Keziah Butler also in Edgartown, MA, Samuel Osborn-9782 and Jedidah Smith are *not* parents of Samuel Osborn-12023(marr. Keziah Butler).

Samuel Osborn-9782 and Jedidah Smith did indeed have a son Samuel, but their son Samuel is Samuel Osborn-9793 who married Margaret Briant in Boston, MA. For the evidence showing Samuel Osborn-9793(marr. Margaret Briant) is the true son of Samuel Osborn-9782 and Keziah Butler, see the family group record for Samuel Osborn[#9793].
