The progress and symptoms of this disease have been as follows:
I first got aquainted with William Kelahan in the fall of 1862 in
the 32d reg of KY Vols. and if he was disabled at that time in any
way I never new it. About the next acquaintance I had with him was
in the fall of 78 when I hired him to do some work for me and he
seemed not to be stout and quit on acount of his health. I live
not far from him + have for several years. I know he complains a
great deal of his health and I further know he has a very bad
looking leg. The following is the testimony of John Wilds. I
first become acquainted with William Calahan in the fall of 1862
and his health was good at that time. I next met with him or
employed him to work for me in 1877 and his health was not good at
time. Not able to do more than 1/3 labor.

Kallahain in said Co. of Owen in 1877, at which time said applicant
made application to the Owen Court of Claims for a release from road
tax on account of disablility arising from having received a gun
shot wound in right ankle. I then examined his leg and found it in
a very bad condition. In consequence of said disability his request
was granted by the court of which I was then a member. I have no
interest in the claim. Signed G.W. Smith, J.O.P. Subscribed and
sworn to before me by Geo. Smith this 28th day of March, 1885.
