Obituary of Mrs. Emma Osborne
   Source unknown, but probably the local Murrayville newspaper.  Emma
   Osborne died 11 May 1951.

Mrs. Emma Osborne of Murrayville Dies Here Friday

   Murrayville -- Mrs. Emma Osborne, 85, a resident of Murrayville for many
years, died at 3:20 p.m. Friday at Passavant hospital after a short illness.
   She was the widow of John N. Osborne and the daughter of John Franklin
and Lena Lessmon<???> Osbun.  She was a member of the Methodist church at
Murrayville.
   Surviving are two daughters, mrs. Ira P. Story of Jacksonville and Mrs.
Henry Ros<???> of Murrayville, and one son, Robert L. Osborne of Mountain
View, N.J.  Two daughters preceded her in death, Beulah in 1895<???> and
Hilda in 1838<???>.
   She also leaves 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, two sisters,
Mary E. Jarrard of Memphis, Tenn., and Carrie Welge<???> of Waggoner, Ill.,
and two brothers, J.H. Osbun of Pontiac, Mich., and Joseph Osbun of Kane.
   The remains were removed to the Thompson Funeral Home here.  Funeral
services will be held Monday afternoon at the Murrayville Methodist church,
and burial will be in Murrayville cemetery.
   Members of the family will meet friends at the funeral home from 7-9<???>
p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

   (Abstract)

   James C. Osborn, father of James Edward Osborne came to Morgan Co. in
18-2<overwriten>.  James and a brother left home in Tenn. in their early
teens after their father died.  Their ancestors came from England, going
to Virginia, then Kentucky, and then Tennessee.  James went to Illinois while
his brother went to Indiana.  James C. Osborn married Mariah Phillips, of
Dutch ancestry, who had come to Morgan Co. from Pennsylvania.  James and
Mariah had twelve children.

   James Edward Osborne(1865-1940) lived his entire life in Morgan Co. and
married Maud Million, daughter of Elijah and Eliza Kennedy Million.  James
E. Osborne and wife had eight children:
Edna (born 1896)
Esther (born 1898)
Elva (born 1902)
Samuel N. (born 1904)
Hugh (born 1907)
Paul (born 1911, died 1970 in Batavia, IL)
Hope (born 1917, marr. Earl Dallman)
